#Spanking Round Table: Anal Punishment, Hot or Not? #Anal #spankinground

It seems like it's been a long time since I've participated in a Round Table discussion. These discussions are always so much fun! Thank you Spanking Romance Reviews for hosting such thought provoking and fun topics!

There is something about anal punishment that makes my heart beat faster, my breath quicken, and that turns me on like almost nothing else. There was a time when spanking alone did that to me and certainly still does, but when combined with that little bit of extra spice it launches me right out into orbit.

It seems that once upon a time spanking authors for the most part kept their books strictly to spanking. In the last few years something has been changing. Authors are branching out into even more taboo areas; extending the discipline to make it just a little bit naughtier. In the same way that rectal temperature taking gave me a little extra thrill when watching a spanking video the launch into anal punishment in books has done the same for me and more.

A few years ago I stumbled onto Jennie May's Church of the Illuminated series. Wow! Talk about taboo. The moment one of the HOH's inserted a finger into his TIH's rectum to get her attention during a lecture was one that I haven't been able to get out of my mind since (and it's something my husband teases me about to this day!) There were special implements made to spank that special area and more. Something clicked that day and I will admit the tamer novels have lost a little bit of their appeal although there are always exceptions.

Anal play and anal sex don't do the same things to me. There definitely has to be an element of dominance and authority. Whether it's anal spanking, ginger root, creams or soapstick discipline count me in!

Now, I know not everyone agrees. I have several friends who love a good old fashioned spanking novel and would prefer anything spicier to be kept out. What are your thoughts on the subject? What is the thing that gets your heart pumping the fastest in your favorite erotic novel?

  3. You're right--the dominance added another dimension to the act.

  4. I love the dominance aspect of the act. I've never read soap stick punishment in the bottom!! Where have I been, that I've missed this? I think I may like that better than ginger root.

    1. With soap stick discipline the possibilities are endless! I actually haven't read many stories featuring it other than one particular blogger once upon a time.

  5. Of course I am way into the dominance aspects, as you said so well. Thank you for hosting this, Corinne, and for all you do. I appreciate your kindnesses more than you can know.

  6. Anal is about my favorite when it comes to spanking romance. I agree that it definitely adds some spice.
I have heard of and read about the uses of ginger in the bum, but never about a soap-stick. Please let me know when you do a post talking more about it... I'm so curious now. Also do you have the titles of the books you read where a soap-stick was used as part of a punishment?
Great post Corinne, thanks for intriguing me ☺

  7. interesting, Corrine. I guess it's my BDSM background, but I don't see punishment and dominance as connected. And anal punishment mostly gets my heart going when we're talking historical or fantasy. Like I think of Ciaran Dwynwil's (goodness I hope I spelt his name right) male/male fantasy/BDSM books.

  8. I think I'd picked up the first in Jennie Mays' series awhile ago, but hadn't read it yet. I may have to remedy that, thanks to your post.

BTW, I love that black and white pic in this post. Smokin'!)

  9. I can't believe I forgot the soapstick! I also already commented once, but it didn't take. :( I've found that tamer novels have lost their appeal for me as well, and for the same reason. I prefer a bit of spice.I'd like my heroines to wander into that same realm of sensual/sexual misbehavior correction that I'd like (at least mentally) to experience every so often. I'm a bad girl at heart, if not in practice. Treat me that way!
