A-Z Challenge: L is for Leather #SpankA2Z

Mmm, there's something about leather that really just flat does it for me. The smell of the supple material, the sound of it slicing through the air, the jingle of the buckle as he takes it off, the way it sounds as it strikes the flesh. It just sends shivers up my spine. It is by far my favorite spanking implement. I have to admit that the belt is my absolute favorite, but the strap, tawse, crop, and leather paddle also have a place near and dear to my heart.

A-Z Challenge: #Kink #SpankA2Z

Kink has been my favorite flavor of sexuality since before I knew that it had a name. From the first time I read sex being anything, but vanilla I knew it was for me. Other than my first few sexual experiences I have stayed off the straight and narrow. I like to go where the road bends. 

Case in point, when I was around sixteen years old there was a boy who I had a huge crush on. He was edgy and dark in all the right ways. I just knew he would be HOT in bed. Well, or at least until the day that he shot my fantasies right out of the water. Apparently, he liked me too. Except well...in order to prove that he was my kind of guy he thought it was a good idea to tell me how romantic he was. According to him he loved rose petals, mushy sex music (think Marvin Gaye,) and slow, languid love making. And with that any shot he had with me was right out the window. My face fell further with every word he spoke. I still have no idea if he knew what went wrong.

A-Z Challenge: Johanna Lindsey (My First #Spanking Novel)

As an avid romance novel reader starting around the age of twelve it's not a surprise that I was exposed to a lot of things at an early age that not many sixth graders had. Also, knowing romances from that era it should also not be a surprise that this was exactly where I learned about spanking causing it to deeply ingrain itself in my psyche as irrevocably linked to sex and romance.

It was not uncommon at all for the hero of any said romance novel to throw the heroine across his knee at any moment for a well deserved bottom thrashing. It wasn't long until I awaited those scenes with baited breath. They were my favorites. Any book that contained these much anticipated scenes would soon become dog eared from the number of times I would read and re-read them. 

I'm not sure if Johanna Lindsey had more spanking scenes than anyone else or if hers were just that much more memorable, but it seems that most of my favorites came from her. I believe my very first spanking romance (if you can call those brief scenes that...Carolyn Faulkner later shifted my perspective on what a true spanking romance was.) Sadly, I have not found which title it is exactly, but I do know that it was a Western. There were two spanking scenes. One long over the knee spanking due to the heroine becoming a jealous shrew and the other in bed at the end for putting herself in danger. That first spanking changed my life. 

There were many to follow and others that stick out in my mind are Defy My Heart & her Ly-San-Ter Family Trilogy. I read a book a day, so forgive me if the other titles blur a bit. I do know that most of her novels from the eighties and early nineties are almost guaranteed to have a spanking or two thrown in there.

A-Z Challenge - #Good Girl #Spankings #SpankA2Z

Sorry for the blank posts!! I had a sudden bout with my chronic illness which kept me from updating my posts the last two days. I’m feeling much better & I’m ready to catch up on the A-Z challenge. My post for G is all about “Good Girl Spankings.” This conjures up images of delicious erotic spankings that finish with a happy ending. While those can be highly satisfying, in my book good girl spankings encompass anything that is not a punishment. Here are a few different types of good girl spankings & their definitions starting with the aforementioned erotic spanking.

Erotic spankings are purely for pleasure. They start out slow and sexy including a lot of fondling, stimulating the recipient in all the right places. The happy ending is the goal of this type of spanking and they are often used to enhance the sexual experience of both parties.

In other words endorphins are our brains way of providing us with natural pain killer and feel good chemicals. The definition goes on to say:

...Besides behaving as a pain reducer, endorphins are also thought to be connected to euphoric feelings, appetite modulation, and the release of sex hormones. Prolonged,CONTINUOUS exercise contributes to an increased production of endorphins and, in some people, the subsequent "runner's high."

Common causes of the release of endorphins are exercise, meditation, childbirth, alcohol, chili peppers, and bodywork. You know what else releases endorphins? Spanking!! No wonder we are so drawn to it. It makes sense that so many of us use it as a stress reliever and according to the excerpt above no wonder it makes us insatiable sexually. Oh and did you also see that it helps us lose weight?!

A-Z Challenge - Domestic Discipline #SpankA2Z

For D day I thought I'd talk about Domestic Discipline. We write books about it. We read books about it. Some of us live it out in our daily live's. Some of us dream about it. One thing's for sure, though, it is a very popular topic in the spanking world. 

Although Domestic Discipline is not all about the spanking, many of this type of relationship include them from one degree to the other. DD typically involves one partner being the dominant, in charge, partner with the other being the more submissive partner. Some have established rules, while others go by the four D's (Dishonesty, Disrespect, Disobedience, & Dangerous behavior,) and still others choose a more goal oriented style of DD. 

This can be a small aspect of the relationship all the way to an all encompassing aspect. As someone who has been in this dynamic with my husband for 6 years it has been all the way from one extreme to the other depending on what's happening in our lives to our mentality at the time. I remember when I stumbled upon DD what seems like a million years ago it was like a light bulb going off. It encompassed everything I wanted in a spanking relationship. I always had a need that I could not completely identify. DD fit that need to a T. 

It gave a purpose to my fetish (I never would have admitted that it was a fetish back then & I definitely thought DD & the fetish were mutually exclusive...not true!) I have always been a self help type of person, always seeking to improve myself. Like any marriage we needed some work in the communication department. I definitely had qualities & habits I wanted to improve on. It took many years before we actually incorporated it into our lives, actually until I fully admitted to my husband that I needed this. When I finally did we jumped in with both feet. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but also a lot more satisfying.

We had the typical two steps forward one step back. At the end of the first year I can say with all honesty we had never been happier. Our communication skills had gone through the roof. I have a bit of a homemaker fetish (and a lot of room for improvement,) so that's where we started along with respect. Some years we have had full boat DD and others it is mostly play. What I've learned is that this is now a part of who we are. Even if life gets in the way (boy has it!) we will circle back eventually. That realization has made me very secure.

Welcome to day two of the Spanking From A-Z Blogging Challenge. What better thing for a spanking romance author & spanko to write about than Bare Bottom Spankings?! I'm sure everyone agrees that all the best spankings happen on the bare.
